Another great performance by Celtic last night has left the fans looking forward to Sunday’s league Cup match against Hearts with a terrific sense of excitement.

“Angeball” has now certainly come into effect and if the Celtic supporters were in any doubt whether or not last Sundays 6-0 demolition of Dundee was a one off performance, they can allay those fears right now.

A repeat performance last night has shown the fans what they can expect every single time they rock up to Paradise to watch their team and, I’ll tell you something, this season is going to be a belter!

The Daily Record reported after last nights win over Jabonec, Ange Postecoglou gave the fans an update on the progress of transfer signings and also an insight as to why it is taking so long to get deals completed.

The Celtic gaffer admitted he wants as many bodies is as he cans but also calls on patience from the fans as the behind the scenes work carries on, “I would like it, that’s the honest answer and we’ll certainly try.

“But what I like and what can happen in the reality of that is different.

“But we’re working awfully hard, I guarantee you. Not a moment goes past, off the field the whole club’s working hard to make sure we can do it.

“But I’ve just got to temper that by saying we’ve done really well with the ones we’ve brought in so far.

“They’ve added something to this football club.

“I want to resist bringing players in just for the sake of it.

“Part of the issue is mine, I’m selective with the players I want to bring in.

“But I’m certainly pushing to get bodies in.

“There’s been plenty of names banded about but for us it hasn’t been about us having one target.

“We know that in the current climate some things take longer than others and we’ve just got to be really patient and diligent in our work.

“Once players are signed then I’m happy to talk about them but the speculation in terms of who we may or may not be interested in – if you look at it from when I started – I’d have had a squad of 73 by now and I don’t have that.”

So it looks like the signs are encouraging for the Celtic fans and this update should put the stupid speculation on who is running the rule over players and, in fact, who is signing players to bed once and for all.

The end of the transfer window is coming, and fast, but it does look like Postecoglou has a firm grip of those behind the scenes to ensure that he gets the players he wants.
