With the news that Callum McGregor is set to be out for up to eight weeks, the injury curse that seems to be following Celtic around this season shows no signs of abating.

The Hoops have FIVE massive fixtures that are coming up before the international break which will have a huge say in the destination of the title.

And going into those games without the captain is a really huge blow for Ange Postecoglou.

The ongoing speculation surrounding Celtic’s transfer business is sure to ramp up now and with the Glasgow club already linked with a move for Zinedine Ferhat, Guardian journalist Adam White has tipped the Algerian international as ‘good option’ for the Hoops.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, White said, “I think for Celtic, absolutely, he’d be a really good option.

“He can play as a number 10, can also play out wide and as an attacking midfielder, very graceful, creative, and I think he’d improve Celtic’s team and would be one of the better players in the SPFL.”

Postecoglou has said previously that Celtic’s transfer business is done unless ‘something extraordinary‘ comes along still reigns true and I think now, that McGregor’s injury is more than extraordinary.

The purchase of Ferhat would be seen as a real statement of intent by Celtic as they pursue the league title but it would depend on one thing.

Is Ange Postecoglou happy with what he’s got as his disposal to replace the captain for the coming weeks?
