Celtic have an abundance of talent at our disposal and it is brilliant that when we look at our bench, we have seven players who are first-team ready looking to stake a claim for a place in the starting eleven.
Oh looks like a dangerous striker. Haksabanovic has great skill and directness in his game and Matt O’Rilet does what Matt O’Riley does. He has that ability to unlock defences.
But one man is seriously giving the Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou some food for thought.
Liel Abada was brought on against St Mirren on Sunday and claimed the Man of the Match in a second-half performance that helped turned the game around.
The little Israeli also bagged his twelfth goal of the season and considering many of his appearances are coming off the bench, that is an impressive stat.
And it’s time he was given a run in the first team. That’s according to journalist, Roger Hannah.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Hannah said, “I think he’s due a turn in the team now, Abada.
“I think for a long time, we spoke in build up to the Cup final that the front three sort of picked itself of Jota, Kyogo and Maeda.
“But I think Abada’s now beginning to elbow Maeda out again.”
That would be a big call. I would say Jota is the man that is more out of form than Maeda but then, can we afford to drop Jota out the side now that we are at the business side of the season?
It’s a great headache to have and one that, as a fan, I love the amount of competition there is for places.
