I covered this story yesterday and to be honest, it was one that I was very sceptical of in the first place.
For a while now I have said that Celtic should be looking to add a third striker to the team as out Champions League campaign showed that we lacked that extra bit of quality up front to make us that bit more competitive.
With a host of missed chances, we are left to rue a campaign that could have been so much better if we had a striker that could just find the back of the net.
Now, that’s not to say Kyogo and Giakoumakis are not good strikers, because they are. Domestically.
They just didn’t seem to have that cutting edge for Europe.
So when I wrote about Celtic being linked to Ross Stewart of Sunderland, I poured scorn on that straight away.
He’s simply not good enough and certainly not any better than what we have here already at the club. And you know what’s worse?
Ibrox Noise claim that we are somehow ‘battling’ them for his signature.
Which is weird because as far as I know, we are not remotely interested in him.
So how, exactly are we battling them?
Have we made an offer? No.
Have Rangers? Don’t be daft. They’re skint.
Have either club offered a contract? Not as far as I am aware.
They are just rehashing news from another website and running with it.
And rather than them doing their own critical analysis and forming an opinion, they are reporting it as fact.

They know fine well that result or the player wasn’t the sole reason for the protests, but let’s not let facts get in the way.
