As the summer rebuild continues for Ange Postecoglou, it seems that the right full back position is a matter of priority for the Celtic  gaffer.

With links to Aurelio Buta as being the top target this transfer window, it does look like Postecoglou doesn’t see Anthony Ralston as the man to deliver the kind of football he expects from his full backs.

To be fair to Ralston, he has equipped himself well whenever called upon, but his limitations do show the higher up the pitch he plays and with the brand of football and expectations Postecoglou is laying on his full backs, it does look like Ralston may not be in the future plans for the Celtic boss.

Reports today have emerged that Celtic are in pole position to land Fabricio Bustos, an Argentinian international right back currently plying his trade at Independiente in the Argentine Liga Profesional.

Having broken through to the Independiente first team in 2016, he was given his professional debut by Argentine legendary defender, Gabriel Milito, and so far he has made over 100 appearances for the club.

Bustos has been capped four times by Argentina and made his full international debut in March 2018 starting in a friendly against Italy but has since made further appearances against Venezuela and Uruguay.

French media site Homme du Match claim the Hoops are in ‘pole position’ to land Bustos but it remains to be seen if any formal offer has been made. It is understood that a bid of around €3.4m would be enough to secure his services.
