As Celtic look to continue to strengthen their squad ahead of a crucial month domestically and in Europe, the signings of Joe Hart and James McCarthy will definitely add some much needed experience to the squad.

But journalist Mark Guidi has tipped the Parkhead club to continue their spending spree as he names two players that Celtic could potentially be ready to pounce for.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi mentions that young Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson and wanted Hibs man, Josh Doig are both candidates that are ready, if they are willing, to take the next step and make the move to Glasgow. On Ferguson, Guidi said,  “Do I think that Lewis Ferguson is good enough to go and play for Celtic?  Yes I do. Will Celtic go for him?  I have no idea about that.

“But that but I certainly think he’s good enough to go out and make an impact.”

And when pressed on whether of not Celtic should pay the money Hibs are looking wanting for Josh Doig, Guidi references the fee paid for Scott Brown as he inspiration to stump up the cash, as long as they believe he is the right man, “If you believe he’s the right one for you, put it this way, if you thought that if Kieran Tierney was Josh Doig five years ago and you were getting Kieran Tierney from Hibs for £4m.

“Scott Brown 4 million quid from Hibs 15 years ago, look at the service he gave Celtic.

“So if you believe he’s the right one, then £4m and if you believe it, then yeah, go pay it.”

There is no doubt that both players would be good additions to the Celtic squad and Doig, for me is a no brainer, but has the signing of McCarthy put the brakes on any potential move for Ferguson? It is going to be a very interesting month ahead for the Celtic fans.
