Coming to the business end of the transfer window, we certainly won’t be short of transfer stories regarding the Hoops.

With the news dominated at the start of the January with Celtic incomings, it was only a matter of time before Ange turned his hand at trimming the squad of those players who stuck on the fringes.

A report [The Daily Record] claims that Celtic are set to offload big money trio Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli and Albian Ajeti have been tipped to be jettisoned by the Aussie gaffer.

In the report by Gabriel McKay, the journalist claims that the three players are set follow Leigh Griffiths out the Parkhead door as the club look to trim the bloated squad.

If Celtic do manage to find new clubs for the three players, they could save themselves £2m per year (£40k per week) from the wage bill as according to Salary Sport,  Barkas (£9k), Bolingoli (£15k) and Ajeti (£18k) are draining the club of much needed funds.

This money could be released to Postecoglou to further add to the squad and it would seem the Celtic boss is keen to get these three, who have hardly featured under the gaffers tenure so far, out of the club.

It remains to be seen if there will be any takers at this point but with all three full internationals, you would hope that any cut price deal could be brokered to allow them to resurrect their careers elsewhere.

I’ve no proof, but I suspect Barkas & Ajeti are on considerably more. I heard sometime back that Barkas was on closer to £30k per week, but like I said, I have no proof myself to confirm one way or another. Need to get them off the books regardless the loss we’re going to inevitability take.
