The Reo Hatate transfer rumour was one that Vital Celtic broke on Wednesday night.

No sooner had it broke, than other main stream media news outlets hung on to the coat tails of the story.

As regular readers of the site know, I tweeted respected journalist Dan Orlowitz for his opinion on the rumour and he was very kind in getting back to me even through a flurry of queries from other Celtic fans.

It was disappointing to note that Dan questioned the credibility of the source and disheartening that I had to write another story casting serious doubts on the potential move.

But the story got a massive shot in the arm when former Rangers defender and now agent, Craig Moore, had his say on the rumours.

Moore never denied that there was no legs in the rumour but did give a run down of why the Hoops could see Hatate as a perfect addition to the Parkhead playing squad.

Speaking on Go Radio, Moore said, “Well look, he’s a player that certainly has a lot of versatility. That wingback role so he covers the full left flank.

“Can also play in central areas and he’s managed so far this season was played 26 times four goals two assists.

“And Kawasaki Frontale have clinched the J League with four games remaining.

“He’s a player that’s performed at the highest level as level in the J League this season.”

It seems the Hatate is really highly rated by Moore and think of him [Moore] what you will, the big Aussie is a well connected agent in the game and if there was no legs in this move, he would have said it.
