Celtic fans loved his passion, his energy and his, seemingly, love for playing for Celtic in the Scottish League.
Kristoffer Ajer was one of those players that you could see loved playing for the club. Yes he had his limitations but his mazy runs from defence with the ball and the way he celebrated making a last minute tackle like he’d just scored a winner really endeared him to the fans.
And it is also fair to say that when he sealed his big money move to the English Premier League, the majority of the fans wished him well and thank him for his service.
That was until an interview surfaced that was captioned on Twitter by Oddschanger yesterday when Ajer said of his time at Celtic, ” “I think it is natural when you play a little too many matches at a level that is not high enough.
“I have incredible respect for the Scottish league, there are many great teams there, but there were a little too many matches where I was not challenged enough.
“I will definitely be in the Premier League, so I probably think it is not possible to complain about Premier League.”
He does love a wee controversial interview in his homeland doesn’t he?
Strange comment seeing as Celtic finished twenty five points behind their rivals in the league last season and trophy-less.
But don’t listen to me rabbit on about it, the Celtic fans say it best as they reacted to Ajer’s interview in some of the best replies I’ve seen on Twitter:
We were, for lack of better words… utter baws last season.
In the ten matches between October 17th & 3rd December Celtic won one match & conceded 27 goals.
That's a defence with Ajer at the heart of it.
Don't pretend you weren't challenged to make yourself look better.

I saw this player challenged every week and come up short time and time again. His biggest attributes are his pace and ball carrying, his biggest weaknesses are his defending and positioning…I know what I want from my central defenders.

The annoying thing about this is how players get away with spouting complete and utter p*sh with any challenge back. Should be forced to watch a compilation of all the goals celtic conceded last year to give us a laugh

Found out big time in Europe on a regular basis , how may times were you at fault for goals ? , started believing your own publicity , was on verge of getting punted when a loan spell at Kilmarnock resurrected Celtic career
