Celtic’s transfer activity has probably been the most written about this summer.

As Ange Postecoglou makes his mark on the first team, the Celtic gaffer will have his eye on Odsonne Edouard leaving the club and thinking about a potential replacement.

The speculation surrounding who that may be has been circled around Hibs striker Kevin Nesbit. Nesbit has been touted by the media for a move from the Edinburgh side for almosts a year and the recent rumours about a move to Celtic will just not go away.

Speaking on The Record Celtic podcast, journalist Mick Gannon, was discussing the potential of a move for the young Scotland striker to Paradise and was very cagey about his knowledge over any potential deal.

Speaking about the rumours Gannon said, “I think it makes sense. Would Celtic take Nesbit? Probably yes. Would Hibs take Leigh Griffiths? I’m not sure.

“That’s the issue as well.”

Chris Sutton wasn’t having any of his fence sitting and and said to Gannon, “You’re just waffling there. Is there any truth?”

To which Gannon replied,“I don’t see the appeal to Hibs really.  I think Hibs have got a young striker, worth a lot of money. Griffiths? Question marks on his fitness over the last two or three years.

“I don’t see the appeal to him. Celtic would love Nesbit. Would they pay pay four or five million pounds?  I doubt it.

“There’s just too many things involved I think it’s makes it too tricky.

“Would Celtic take Nesbit? Of course they would. Could they afford him? I doubt it.

So it seems to be all about the money and if Celtic can afford to pay the kind of money Hibs would be after.

For me, the money is a non issue. If Celtic wanted him, or more specifically, if Ange wanted him, he would have him. That’s the main question here. Not if Celtic can afford him.
