This seems to be a hot topic at the moment amongst the fans and the journalists right now and it is not hard to see why.

As Joe Hart continues to prove his worth between the sticks for Celtic, a question has been brought up again and again over the course of the last few months.

What would Celtic do without him?

Scary thought right?

Well, journalist Tony Haggerty, believes he has the answer to that question.

Speaking on A Celtic State of Mind, Haggerty believes there is someone in the SPFL that could do a job and step in for Hart if the unthinkable did happen, “Celtic supporters can see it with their own eyes. They don’t trust Bain. They certainly don’t to trust Barkas.

“So if you can offload any of them or both in the January transfer window then use whatever you recoup for them, cut your losses.

“You’ll get something for them and put it towards a goalkeeper and my personal choice, and I said on Friday, will be Zander Clark from St Johnstone.

“I know he’s been linked with a move to Rangers. Go and get him.

“Zander Clarke has proven his worth and say, ‘Look, I’m looking for somebody, you might not be happy being understudy to Joe Hart. I’ll play you in the Scottish Cup‘, that kind of thing, and let him know that he will play.

“So he knows he’s gonna get game time. But some goalkeepers just want to play and don’t want to play second fiddle.

“But I would certainly go and ask the question.

“I know he’s been linked with a move to Rangers as well. But then you could maybe steal a match on the them.

“You know what, he is a good goalkeeper, one of the best in the Scottish League.

“So I would go and ask the question. If he wants to come, great, I would pursue it.”

Clarke has certainly shown his worth in the St Johnstone side as he played a major part in their cup double success but could he make the step up to become Celtic’s number one?
