Watching Celtic struggle to hit the back of the net in the past couple of domestic games has been painful. Not as painful as watching the defending, but a difficult watch none the less.

But all that could change if the Hoops manage to get Cameroonian striker Jean-Pierre Nsame from Swiss team Young Boys. A report emerged today from Teamtalk that Celtic, alongside West Ham, Southampton and Newcastle are all keeping tabs on the prolific striker.

Nsame emerged from French side Angers in 2012 where in four seasons he scored just twenty two goals.  In 2016 he was picked up by Swiss side,  Servette where he spent a single season but was deadly in front of goal scoring twenty three in thirty one games.

That form caught the attention of the then Swiss Super League champions, Young Boys and they shelled out £810,000 for the Cameroonian. His first season with Young Boys was quite tentative as he took time to settle but still managed a goal every three games, bagging fifteen in forty five appearances helping his team to the Swiss Super League title.

Would you take Mourinho as new Celtic boss?

YES

NO

His second season at YB was much of the same hitting 16 times in 40 appearances as the Boys romped to another league title but it was season 2019/20 where Nsame really found his lethal touch in front of goal.

In 46 appearances the 27 year old scored 41 goals. Incredibly out of 32 Super League fixtures he scored an incredible 32 goals.  This season so far he has 25 in 38 appearances but also has nine assists to his credit also.

A truly outstanding talent and it is little wonder he is beginning to attract from the EPL and the former Scottish champions.  With his current value estimated at £6m, Celtic may have their work cut out with EPL money also in the frame for the hitman, but the impending sale of Odsonne Edouard could help finance the move.
