There is no doubt Celtic’s transfer business, on the outside, looks good.

With twelve players passing through Parkhead’s gates this summer, the Ange Postecoglou’s revolution is well under way.

The fans are now looking forward to the domestic season restarting on Saturday and it will hopefully give them the chance to cast their eye over a few of the new signings but in particular, former Portuguese sensation, Filipe Jota.

Jota has signed with the Hoops on loan and the Parkhead club also have an option to buy the 21 year old winger.

Jota was described by Portuguese football site Tugascout as “one of the most highly regarded youth players to come out of Benfica’s highly illustrious academyand speaks glowingly about his “dazzling trickery and dribbling ability” so there is no doubt Celtic certainly have a player on their hands.

According to Sport Witness, Benfica also realise this which is why they have inserted a clause in the loan deal that if he impresses Celtic, then they will have the option to buy him for £6.5m.

This is not new information you say, but also, according to the report, should the Hoops take up the option to buy, Benfica have also slipped in a 50% sell on clause should Celtic decide to sell him down the line.

It is not known whether it is 50% of total sale or profit, but the size of the clause will certainly raise a few eyebrows amongst the Parkhead support, especially as they have just dealt with the same situation with the sale of Odsonne Edouard.

Benfica clearly feel this boy is going places and as long as he does his talking in the green and white hoops, the Celtic fans won’t concern themselves too much about any future financial benefits to The Eagles, but surely someone on the Parkhead board could have negotiated that clause down?
