This is a move that will excite all Celtic fans. Filipe Jota has been the subject of much speculation about a move to Paradise as Ange Postecoglou makes strengthening the first team a priority after yesterdays 1-0 Glasgow Derby loss.

Jota is a highly rated young player from Benfica and as Vital Celtic reported last night, he was part of the Portugal youth international squad that won the European Championships in 2018 and was the tournaments top goalscorer.

The move is now all but sealed as respected journalist Stephen McGowan confirmed on Twitter last night that the medical for the young winger is booked in for Monday as the club look to seal a loan to buy deal.

This move will excite Celtic fans who have been impressed with Ange Postecoglou’s footballing philosophy that has seen the club unexpectedly qualify for the Europa League, score twenty four goals in six games and, up until this afternoon, oversaw an unbeaten run which stretched to six games.

Considering where the club has come from in the past five to six weeks, the turnaround in fortunes has been remarkable.

With Jota all but tied up, the Celtic fans will look forward to the next couple of days with expectancy as the club will be looking to make further moves in the transfer market.

Odsonne Edouard seems to be making an expected exit before the end of the window and Giorgos Giakoumakis all but signed, there is an expectancy that Postecoglou is likely to bring in a couple of defenders to help out his back line.

Despite todays result, these are still exciting times for the Celtic fans.
