Celtic’s transfer business has been lauded, more often than not, as being excellent in this summer window.
Apart from grumblings in some factions of the media and our rivals where they believe we have spent all that money just to stand still, one thing I think people forget is that if we didn’t sing our loan players from last season, we would have had to source players who were more likely not of the same quality to fill those spaces they would have left.
But out of the three loan signings of Maeda, Jota and Carter-Vickers, which one is the better value? Which one could net Celtic more in terms of profit if the club were to sell in the near future?
When asked out of all the additions who was the better value, Mark Guidi singled one player out.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, the journalist said of Carter Vickers, “Value for money. Even more so than Jota.
“I think, if they [Celtic], if they want to, I think they could sell him for a lot, a lot of money.
“I think he could become even more of an asset than Jota.”
There is absolutely no doubt Jota and CCV are both quality players, but do we really think that when it comes down to it, that the big American defender would fetch more than the Portuguese winger?
